- Guided Snorkelling Tour (Boat Snorkel Trip)- Experience the best snorkelling sites at Green Island. You will be taken to one of four dive sites about 1.5km from Green Island to explore and swim amongst colourful marine life and coral gardens. The snorkelling safety officer [lifeguard] is on hand to supervise and direct you to the best areas of the site. Duration approx 1 hour. (snorkel hire not included in snorkel tour)
- Green Island Beach Hire- Enjoy activities such as canoeing and glass bottom kayaks, beach volleyball, windsurfing or relax on a sunlounge under a beach umbrella
- Marineland Melanesia- See exciting crocodile shows and hold a baby croc. Tropical fish aquariums, primitive art and marine artefacts on display. Home to Cassius - Guinness World Record Holder of Largest Crocodile in Captivity.

Green Island is the only coral cay on the Great Barrier Reef with a rainforest growing on it, which is home to 126 native plant species, colourful birdlife, surrounded by magnificent coral gardens and is some 15 hectares (approx 37 acres) in size.
With the choice of three daily departures, this Green Island cruise is perfect for visitors with limited time, offering a half or full day experience. With a range of exciting optional activities, you can design your day at your own pace. You'll also have the choice of glass bottom boat coral viewing or snorkelling equipment.
You can spend from as little as 2 & 1/2 hours and up to 7 hours at Green Island, depending on the departure times that you select. We do need to book return times when making the reservation, however you can change your return times at a later time subject to availability.
Discover the island's unique flora and birdlife at your own pace with a self guided island walk. See the crew at the information counter for your booklet. Green Island is an ideal daytrip for families with soft sand and shallow waters directly off the beach.
Multi-lingual staff members: Great Adventures does have Japanese and Chinese crew members on this boat all year round. Please request this option when booking so that we can make sure the staff member is working on your day of travel. German, Italian and Korean speakers also work as crew on Great Adventures.

lovely trip over to Green Island
We had a lovely trip over to Green Island. We drove and parked in Cairns. Staff on boat were great. Green Island is a nice place to visit. We did the glass bottom boat, and walked around the Island. We found that maybe for us the time on the island was a bit long. Also where we bought lunch, understandable long busy day. But staff were not overly enjoying there job or that day and customers were at the brunt, even though we smiled, said thank you and enjoy the rest of your day. But maybe we just picked a bad day

The whole family had a fantastic time on Green Island thanks to a beautiful location, great facilities and very friendly/helpful staff on the boat and the island. Our teenage daughters loved being able to enjoy the island without having to hang around with Mum and Dad . The island is safe and ideal for families. Highly recommended.

Excellent experience
Overall it was an excellent experience for both my vessel trips to/from the Green Island and the facilities. The vessel to provide my return trip, however, was a bit smaller but carried more travellers so that it made me feeling crowded and a little noisy.
Anyway, I would choose this to book for my next trip again because it is valuable!

Had a great time on Green Island! I had been before, but decided to stay the full day this time and was not disappointed! Took the guided boat snorkel tour, but found that the better snorkeling spots were actually closer to the island off the beaches. The glass bottom boat tour was spectacular!

The island....what can I say? Idyllic?
The pier was easy to get to, the catamaran was fun and the crew was great. the island....what can I say? Idyllic? Facilities and amenities were clean and plentiful. Food choices varied, with a range of prices. We planned on snorkelling, however as it was a little choppy on the day we decided to go on the glass bottom boat and saw a green sea turtle and many fish. Great day

Not much to see snorkeling on the coral. You can see some fish under the jetty at the ancient Underwater Observatory. Better value to go to the outer reef. Best thing was seeing the crocodiles been fed.

Glass bottom boat cruise was very good.
Difficult for first time snorkellers to get into water and see through sandy water closer to the beach. Children loved it but I was left a bit dissappointed. Glass bottom boat cruise was very good.
